As of yesterday, Folding at Home now supports Nvidia’s CUDA, bringing big gains to owners of Nvidia GPUS:

The program got a big boost this Spring when Nvidia asked people to run F@H to help with coronavirus research, and now Nvidia engineers have helped to add support for CUDA, which is a high-performance compute API. If you’re folding with Nvidia cards, be sure to grab the update.

Any word on what sort of performance gains it brings?

(It doesn't help me, as I'm running an older AMD card, but hey, we're all fighting the same fight).

Looks like around 20 % on average. Though they highlight COVID moonshot projects, which is seeing something more like a 50% boost.

I haven’t been folding for a while, but I may get my 5500XT back in the fight soon at least if it’s new home can handle the thermals (it’s not a very thirsty card, so I’m hoping)

That’s an update to F@H? Because my boys are doing all the folding around here, and they both have Nvidia cards.

Guess my numbers should be up 25% then!

I have been eyeing a new rig. I’m thinking 3070 since I don’t need anything too crazy. It’ll be interesting to see the gains over my wimpy 980.......

The fact that it took them this long to realize CUDA is a thing is a bit... Uh, what’s the word..

Strange? Still, a great development nonetheless as it’s nice to tap into untouched potential. COVID-19 and co, your days are numbered.
